I'm a professional programmer/designer with experience in both the technical and human aspects of Web development. I'm also a vocal advocate for client interests and responsible development.
During the past 10 years I've worked with non-profits, advertising and interactive agencies. From the start, I've worked closely with non-technical users and volunteers.
That experience, and the experience acquired taking projects from start to finish, has helped create a perspective that bridges end-user and technical requirements.
The focus of my work during the past few years has been PHP Web design/development and XHTML/CSS/JavaScript production for small businesses. I've recently started working with Ruby and Python (including Ruby on Rails and Django).

My time out of the office is spent making peculiar music, taking pictures, and reading about design, code and philosophy. I listen to a lot of jazz, and a lot of music not hip enough to discuss here. I live in the western suburbs of Chicago with my amazing wife Leah and our dogs Stanley and Zoe.
